At JumpStart we continually develop new websites for up and coming businesses throughout Ireland and abroad. Quite simply having a website is not just a nice to have anymore; it's an essential aspect of the whole marketing process. One of the first questions I usually get asked is "I want a new website for my business where should I start?" I think many people get overwhelmed with the thought of having to get a website designed for their new or existing business, especially if they are not savvy with the web and the latest technologies out there.

When I do client consultations, they usually ask me on where to begin. In the design process, I initialize it with the logo development. In developing a company logo, I make sure that it has longevity, originality and portrays your company in a serious light. It is a great way to start the overall web design. Doing start-ups are not as complicated as developing existing websites. We have more command, can offer new ideas, and present several options on the first while the latter have already their own terms and personal preferences.

Companies risk confusing customers if they change a logo too many times and that is why they are often reluctant to make overhauls of their symbols and nameplates. You don't want to change that much but a little trimming here and there would be okay for new directions or changes in technology. A logo can be a key to a company's image as its name. Corporations spend on new websites but quite hesitant on a logo change. Many large companies have tried and they succeeded such as Pepsi, Apple and the rest. The web presence has something to do with the choice of a logo. It creates the atmosphere. There are three important aspects to be considered in creating a significant logo, the name, the color and the tagline.

When choosing a name for your business we always recommend having the keyword for your business in the name. For example if you run a dog walking service instead of calling it something clever like "Canine Canter" call it "Bob's Dog Walking Service". I know what you're thinking the first name is slicker, but the second name actually describes in detail what your service does and it will work far better when you purchase a domain name. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is an integral part of the overall process of web marketing and having keywords in your domain name will help you get a high ranking on Google

Color also plays an important role on catching the eyes of viewers. This is your website's theme; therefore, the color has to be catchy but not awkward for the logo. Finding the color for your logo can be hard at times to separate yourself from the competition that may have a similar logo. It is also advisable that you use no more than three or four main colors, more than that would cause confusion and strain in the eyes of the viewers. Blue and gold in your logo would be featured heavily in the web design.

The Tagline of your website is what makes a direct impact on your branding than anything else. As a matter of fact, customers relate to the baselines and taglines of products and services more easily than they do to the product itself. Taglines are also very beneficial especially if your company's name does not represent what it actually does. Take these famous and unforgettable taglines as examples: Don't leave home without it. (American Express), Just do it.(Nike) Where's the beef? (Wendy's), Think different. (Apple Computer), The original cider (Bulmers), Tastes great, less filling. (Miller Lite), Melts in your mouth, not in your hands. (M&M Candies).

Your new logo will probably never have the luxury of being in your audience's eye for a lot of time. More than likely, you only have a few seconds to 'grab' the viewers' attention and tell your story. Therefore, it should communicate the essence of your company, service or product effectively and fast. The key points are- Name. Colors. Tagline. At jump Start, we can make this happen. We can discern what would make your logo tick and how to do it. All you need is to contact us anytime for questions and assistance.
