For those who sell product online, getting traffic is the most important step. The best, targeted traffic which brings money comes from search engines like Google or Bing. While the rest of traffic strategy isn't worth trying. Of course, you can get traffic instantly by paying for Google Adwords PPC program, but to maximize your profit, consider adding free traffic into your promotion strategy. To get free search engine traffic, it doesn't mean you need to setup a blog and have it ranked high in Google. There are lots of ways to bring customers to your site for free. 1. For example, you can post articles to directories like Ezine Articles. Due to its strict rules on article content, Ezine Articles is trusted by Google and often appears on lots of keywords. Remember to submit quality articles. Once approved, usually your article will appear in Google instantly. 2. Utilize document sharing sites like Docstoc. I notice that both Scribd and Docstoc ranked well in Google for lots of product name keywords. You can post documents for free and the best part is, no need to wait for editor's approval. 3. Create and post videos at Youtube. Google loves video sharing sites. The same goes for the rest of internet users. Post relevant videos, include the keywords in your video title and remember to add link to your site in the description. 4. Create a lens or hub at Squidoo or Hubpages. Squidoo lens is a great alternative to having your own website. New website usually won't get good ranking in Google. However, the case is different when comes to new lens at Squidoo. Similar to Ezine Articles, you can post articles and get free traffic quickly. Even better, at Squidoo, you can add images and videos. 5. Create slideshow at publish at Author Stream. This one is another content sharing sites, similar to Youtube, but you share slideshow instead of video. Slideshow is very easy to create using free Google Dos and Spreadsheet. 6. Publish your own blog at Blogger or Tumblr. Both blogspot and Tumblr get high page rank in Google. Create your free blog and don't forget to update the content frequently. Google loves unique, fresh content and will send spiders to index your website. 7. Post RSS feed to directories. The main purpose is actually to create lots of quality inbound links to your blog.
