For multimedia applications, the image aspect should be 16:9 specific to the movie display. In this class of projectors fit those with 854x480 (480p), 1280x720 (720p) and'20x1080 (1080i) resolutions. The price is proportional with resolution and that is why a full HD compatible projector can reach or even go above the amount of 300.

If a higher contrast rate is what interests you it is recommended the usage of a grey screen. In this case the colors will suffer. Depending on the video signal source, one has to be careful at the jacks and sockets that the projector has. Most of them work with D-Sub, Component, Composite and S-Video connectors. The new and high resolution models have also DVI and HDMI ports. It is good to know that a projector with original resolution of 720p can in the most of the cases offer a video signal of 1080i due to the scaling motor.
