Thumper Jones

July 31st, 2009

If you know — good. If you don’t — you should. George Jones was one of the hardest drinking, fastest living son of a guns in all of country music history. Admittedly living a life modeled after his hero, Hank Williams, George Jones blazed a trail of infamy and heartache across the wide-open plains of country music history. Known for his distinctive voice and loose phrasing style, the exploits of George Jones have passed from mere stories into legend.

According to a Country Music Television poll, Jones is the “the greatest living country singer” today. In true George Jones style, I’m sure hed say something to the effect, “it’s the living part that’s tricky.” His clever turn of phrases and unusual vocal style can best be sampled on such legendary hits as “White Lightin’” and “He Stopped Loving Her Today.” Then again, all of his songs carry that signature sound.

Of course Jones was famously married to Tammy Wynette. This marriage made in madness was the stuff of legend, often requiring the services of the local sheriff to help them mediate. Of course that’s a fancy word for “cool off.” Between his drinking problem and her drug addiction, it was not the high point of marital bliss for either one of them, When it all came crashing down in 1975, no one was surprised.

What’s age got to do with it? Despite being in to his seventies now, George Jones has not stopped recording or touring. Indeed, he is on tour this summer and is coming to a local gin joint near you. Though there might no be as much pep in his step, his voice is as rich and full as ever. No one can turn a song like The Possum. For those of you not in the know, that’s his nickname.

Getting your hands on a set of George Jones tickets is as easy as pie. You just have to follow the links to the best little booking service around. Don’t wait until the last minute and fall prey to the scalpers. Get a great ticket at a fair price and sleep well at night. But do it quick, because the Possum is not on tour for long.

Ring Tones – Yeh Dil Maange More

July 30th, 2009

The words in the Pepsi advertisement jingle compiled for the Indian audience, literally translating to “the heart wants more” and most everyone’s craze for new and varied ring tones are a perfect match. With the number of cell phone connections sky rocketing in India and the rest of the world, this is one craze that has very little chance of ebbing away. Not that I am one to complain, especially if the tune is one of Kishore Kumar’s evergreen melodies! But I’d draw the line at some of the more bizarre tunes or so called tunes, like a baby crying or the sound of a ‘fart’ that some individuals insist on assaulting our eardrums with.

Some basic points about the ring tone:

1. It is the name given to the sound made by any kind of telephone, not just mobile phones, to announce an incoming call or text message. Most of these sounds, especially those that do not have a tune or are not customised, are not tones at all and should actually be called ring sounds.

2. The first telephones had a bell which made a ‘ring’ing sound when struck by a hammer, operating electromagnetically, to announce a call. While this system is still common, most cell phones and modern land line phones have advanced from the ring to producing different kinds of sounds.

3. While receivers nowadays allow adjustments to the volume, there are many variations on offer regarding the type of ring tone – to allow differentiation between two or more instruments lying side by side. Specific customer requirements are also covered, such as for the hearing impaired.

4. Towards the late 1980s mechanical ring tones were slowly getting replaced by electronic ones progressing from single tones to those playing two, three or more tones and then on to melodies.

5. 1996 saw the advent of the customised ring tones on mobile phones, with some Japanese manufacturers offering a number of options, both customised and pre-recorded.

6. Downloadable ring tones were available from 1998 and this service has now become an enormously successful industry right across the globe.

7. Real tones, which are usually taken from popular songs, began to be distributed from late in 2002.

All the new music being generated by bands, composers, films, etc. number in the hundreds of thousands across the world. Marketing these as ring tones before or at the time of launch allows the tune to become popular and improve the prospects of it becoming a ‘hit’. Ring tones are now available online, can be sent via sms or copied from a DVD or CD. A number of sites specialise in bringing the latest offerings to the consumer, sometimes the second it’s out of the recording studio. There is a huge amount of financial turnover in this business, running into billions of dollars, because everyone would love to have only the latest and the best. Since I am no different from most others and want options for everything, my heart to get to have more . ring tones!

Kenny Chesney Tickets – Charleston, SC

July 30th, 2009

There’s little doubt that Kenny Chesney has made his mark as a country music superstar. After his debut album, “In My Wildest Dreams”, was released by the independent Capricorn Records in 1994, Kenny has gone on to release thirteen more smash albums.

The success of Kenny’s music is remarkable. Of the first thirteen albums he released, eleven were certified gold or higher by the RIAA. His debut may not have sold record numbers on Capricorn Records, but the independent label’s release spurred two singles, “The Tin Man” and “Whatever It Takes” that garnered enough success to prove that Kenny had star potential. Capricorn Records decided to discontinue publishing country music later that year, but Kenny was destined for bigger things.

Kenny Chesney has released more than thirty top ten country hits since his first release, including a whopping seventeen that peaked at number one. He has won four consecutive Entertainer of the Year American Country Music awards and six awards from the Country Music Association.

Born in Knoxville, Tennesse in 1968, Kenny Chesney’s youth in the heart of country music was fueled by an early Christmas gift of a guitar, which he taught himself to play. After joining a bluegrass club while attending East Tennessee State University, he recorded a record on his own in 1989 which he used to sell at gigs to help pay for his dream. Kenny graduated from East Tennessee State with a degree in marketing and with a dream in his back pocket of a career singing country music.

Making his way to Nashville, which is just north of his hometown and east of his collegiate home, Kenny Chesney worked the music scene in the famed Music City, looking to capture a piece of his dream of a career in music.

Kenny Chesney worked to land a record deal in Nashville and eventually signed with BMI and Opryland Music Group in 1992.Despite his youth, he’d already worked in front of audiences and been immersed in music enough that record producers saw his potential.

Kenny made his way to Nashville, TN, which is known worldwide as the home of country music and just north of Kenny’s home town of Knoxville. Kenny’s efforts to land a record deal paid off in 1992, when he signed with BMI and Opryland Music Group.

The 2009 tour includes a show on September 12 in Charleston, South Carolina, at the North Charleston Coliseum. This tour is one of the mega tours of the country music summer season with tour dates all across the United States and Canada.

This year’s Kenny Chesney tour has been dubbed the Sun City Carnival Tour, in support of his most recent album, Lucky Old Sun, which was released in the fall of 2008. The album had already had a number one single by the time it debuted, titled “Everybody Wants to go to Heaven”.

Kenny’s success might not have been overnight, but he’s proved that he’s here to stay. His concerts are huge successes and his awards, top ten hits and scores of number one singles prove that he’s one of country’s modern superstars.

CD Box Sets & Beatles Rock Band Video Game: September 9 Is Beatles Day

July 29th, 2009

The Holidays come early for Beatles fans this year. 9/9/9 is the day when the new remastered Beatles CDs finally come out after wait of 22 years.

In the ’80s when The Beatles first released their albums in the CD format, the technology was still new. The mastering job done on those CDs is considered sub par and that’s why Beatles fans have long been clamoring for remastered CDs.

The remastered CDs are not the only Beatles stuff coming out on 9/9/9, there’s also the original mono mixes of their albums through 1968’s The White Album being released on CD.

These new mono mix CDs will be the first time that many younger Beatles fans get to hear these albums as they were originally intended to be heard because it’s the first time that the mono mixes have ever been on CD.

Mono was being phased out way back in the 1960s, so why should we listen to mono mixes in 2009? This is an understandable view but if you think of these mixes as being the originally intended mixes, it’s interesting to hear them.

The mono mixes are what The Beatles (along with the bands producers and engineers) were mainly focused on. The stereo mixes were done as an after thought with little (if any) input from the band, while the mono mixes were worked on until they were considered to be perfect.

Some claim that the mono versions of Sgt. Pepper & Revolver are far better than the stereo mixes. Those of us who grew up with the stereo versions find that hard to believe, but I think we are very curious to hear what these old timers are talking about, too.

But new CDs are not the only Beatles gear coming out on September 9th, there’s also the new Beatles Rock Band game. It looks like a lot of fun.

The “instruments” for the game even look like the real Beatles instruments (check out Ringo’s drums!) This will the first Rock Band game which allows for harmony singing (with three microphones you can actually do three part harmonies!)

Dependable And Lawful Downloading Of Online Films

July 29th, 2009

In the past years there have been lots of copyright violations due to the straightforwardness of information passing and downloading presented on the Internet. Music, games and movies are all most frequently protected by copyright and if you download them illicitly you are putting yourself at peril for prosecution and you are also putting your computer at jeopardy for viruses and assorted types of spyware.

There are still “free” sites that allow you to download illegally copied copies of films, games and music. These sites most often use a P2P file sharing service. The risk of being caught may be remote; nevertheless there is no need to overrule the copyright on a picture to any further extent because there are many officially authorized download services offered that you can choose from.

Right now there are numerous membership sites that proffer infinite free movie downloads that are entirely lawful. After you give the preliminary membership cost you have access to many films that you can download and they are free. The initial membership fee pays for the percentage fees that are due to the copyright owner. The sites have special software that will analyze the amount of royalties that are owed to the copyright owner.

These sites have a special authorization to offer the movies accessible for download. They have the license to offer the show in return for a royalty fee paid back to the copyright possessor.

The greater part of these sites have a considerable library of movies that you can download right away to your computer or sometimes they are streamed directly to the server. Some of them will offer a software program that will allow you to burn the movie to a disc for viewing from a television set.

Downloading a unabridged picture as a rule takes some time. The pace is dependent upon your Internet connection and your PC. It is achievable to download with a dial-up but it takes more time and you risk a disconnection. Regardless of what speed you have, you may want to ponder downloading when you are going to be away from your computer as it can take quite a bit of time.

But, downloading films straight away to your computer can be a great way to get the motion picture that you want when you want it. There are no overdue fees, you can watch it anytime and the technology is constantly improving.

Before deciding, make sure that you shop around at the countless sites and see that they are authorized and they offer the advantages you want such as a vast assortment, virus safeguard for your computer and a equitable membership fee.

Movie Downloads Provide An Economical Way To Watch Your Favorite Films

July 28th, 2009

Are you tired of renting DVDs from the local video store? Tired of paying too much and not having enough time to watch the movies before you have to return them? Wish you could have your favorite movies from every genre with you, on the go, able to watch them anytime you want? Well, there’s a quick and easy solution for your movie dilemma. Movie downloads are the affordable, good sense solution for your entertainment needs.

There are numerous free movie download sites online. You need to be very careful when you’re searching for movies. There are plenty of sites that offer their services completely free, but these may be pirated copies of movies. This is not only illegal for them to post the movies, if anyone ever wanted to, they could find you guilty, as well. No movie, no matter how great, is worth jail time.

You’ve got choices and the movie companies know this. These days, fewer people are lining up at the local theaters to watch movies. It’s too expensive for most families to get out and enjoy films. It is far less expensive to get movie downloads and view from the privacy and comfort of your own home. Movie downloads let you have total control over the films you’re watching and all of the same great features that you get with DVDs.

You can now download all of the greatest movies in comedy, drama, action, horror and every other genre in just seconds. When you download an entire movie to your computer, you’ve got the best of all possible worlds. You’ll have a top quality, first rate movie that you can watch whenever you want to, all from the comfort of your desktop or laptop. It’s really a great idea to download movies to your laptop before you go on long trips.

Instead of paying $12-$20 at your hotel to watch last viewing movies, you can play them on your laptop, over and over again. Movie downloads are great for business travelers who are often stuck in airports due to delayed or canceled flights. When you’re in the air, forget all about the hustle and bustle of the day by pulling up your favorite comedy. You’re sure to have plenty of other passengers around you wishing they’d had the same great idea.

You’ll pay several dollars at least to get a pair of very uncomfortable headphones that have been recycled through who knows how many flights and passengers. You might be able to hear a little bit, but good luck on quality. If you rent these tiny slivers of technological advance, the selection of viewing choices is going to be quite limited.

They don’t have big screens at the front of the cabin any longer, either. You’re going to get to try to peer over several rows of other cramped passengers to see a screen that’s smaller than a lunch box. Why bother?

Keeping the kids happy when you’re flying is of utmost importance if you’re hoping to have a peaceful flight. Movie downloads present you with a great opportunity for a little peace and quiet on the plane or in the airport. Sit the kids down with your laptop or favorite multimedia device and push play. The time will pass quickly for the kids and silently for you. Who couldn’t use a little down time when you’re busy traveling across country?

Movie downloads provide you with all of the entertainment and viewing enjoyment you could ever imagine. Make your next trip more enjoyable by downloading great new and old films to watch on the plane, in the airport or in the car. Download films to your laptop or transfer them to your multimedia player and entertain yourself. You’ll have a much better time and be the envy of everyone around you.

The Movies With The Topmost Box Office Victory

July 28th, 2009

Box office receipts may not inevitably tell you if a film is truly great as every person has a separate judgment and every show appeals to someone, even if it is only the producers and actors mothers. Still, box office revenue do show how successful the picture was out in the real world.

The topmost motion picture of all time did not make the most money. That is because the upper box office success motion picture from all time came out back in the year 1939. When you regulate for inflation this motion picture far out earned the top money making motion picture.

Adjusting for the inflation of the past 70 years, the most thriving picture from all times is “Gone with the Wind” from 1939, starring Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O’Hara and Clark Gable as Rhett Butler. Adjusted for inflation this show has grossed an remarkable $1.45 billion.

The movie that has in reality brought in the most cold-hard money without any modification for inflation is “Titanic” at $922 million. Nonetheless, with the inflation adjustments for time, “Titanic” comes in at number 6 for all time, which is reputable but 5 other films outperformed it.

Rounding out the leading five, at number 2 it is “Star Wars”, number 3 is “The Sound of Music”, number 4 is “E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial and at the number 5 spot we have “The Ten Commandments”.

“Titanic” of course, comes in at number 6, followed by the summer runaway success, “Jaws” at number 7 and at number 8 it is “Dr. Zhivago”. The only horror show in the top 10 comes in at number 9, which is “The Exorcist” and another movie from 1939 rounds out the top 10, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” from Disney.

In the top 25 movies, both Disney and George Lucas’ “Star Wars” movies have fared well. “Fantasia”, “101 Dalmatians” and “Mary Poppins” are from the Disney studios and “Return of the Jedi”, “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Star Wars: Episode I-The Phantom Menace” connect with “Star Wars” on the list of top 25.

These are all some of the greatest movies from all times. If you haven’t seen them yet, you may not be able to find them at your neighboring video store but you can now download the unabridged top quality movies immediately to your computer from a respectable and fully permissible movie download site.

Performing Music

July 28th, 2009

There are several types of music that depending on your culture and the kind of music you like you can listen and perform. I would like to talk about the types of music that you perform in your daily life.

If you are a lover of the pop music or blues, or something like that, let me tell you that the more you listen to the music you perform from other musicians the better knowledge you will have about the music you are playing.

Music is a very special language that is improved by the ear. The more you listen the better you will perform something. In the case of popular music is so. 80% of the music played around the world is listened music that is not required of knowledge of writing and reading music.

If you like jazz you should listen to a lot of jazz and even start experimenting with blues scales so that you can make your own style which evidently will come from all the music you know. The music that you can listen to and the music you can read or study.

The types of music are today very important in any culture around the world because the music of today is based on fusions of diverse genres and rhythms that can be combined and create new music, styles, trends and new types of music.

This last thing is pretty important because in most reputable music colleges such as Berkley School of Music, they say to all their alumni that the music is not their hobby, now the music will be their careers and this is why the music is based in something very serious that require responsibility and effort. The efforts of many people have led them to create new styles and make important fusions of music.
