Downloading Movies To Zune

May 31st, 2009
by Dana Goldberg

Every Zune owner would loves downloading movies, music, and games to their Zune. However, the cost of downloading a lot of music, movies, and games for Zune adds up fast and can become real expensive. Another thing is that popular file formats such as AVI, MPEG 1, MPEG 2 do not work for Zune. This is not a problem, because oyu can download a conversion software on the internet fro free, which will convert any file into a file format your Zune recognizes.

Downloading files for Zune is a problem for the average Zune user. Most of them go to Microsoft’s Marketplace and that’s it. The average Zune owner has no idea where to get free Zune downloads and how to get the free Zune movies, music, and games onto their Zune. One very popular way to get zune downloads are P2P networks. Most people find them easy to use and you can share files person to person. A big problem is that you leave yourself completely vulnerable to viruses, adware, trojans, and malware. You most likely agree that viruses and malware are not good for your computer or Zune.

Nowadays Torrent sites are gaining popularity as well. So what is a torrent? A torrent is a small file that contains all the information needed to download a particular song, games, or movie. Torrents are somehow safer than P2P, but both types of sites are illegal in the US. There are already people who had to go to jail because of internet piracy or even worse had to go to jail. So all in all it is recommended to stay away from these types of sites.

The safer alternative to consider, while seeking free downloads for your Zune player, would be a Zune membership site. Generally, there is a small membership fee for sites like this. Reason being, for the upkeep of the website, and maintenance, etc. Once you pay that small fee, you are then able to fully enjoy completely free, unlimited downloads of movies, music, and games for your Zune player. In fact, every download available is already converted, and ready for immediate download and play on your Zune, so there is absolutely no need for any conversion software.

The net’s largest Zune membership site offers over six million music files alone. You will also get access to all kinds of other software such as media players. Customerservice is in most cases prompt and in case you are running into problems or have questions there is always someone there to assist you. So if you love downloading lots of files to your Zune a Zune membership site is the best option.

Good Vocal Microphones that Make the Difference.

May 30th, 2009
by Evan Shaffhauser

Ever wonder what makes a great recording great? Gives life to a live performance? Makes the difference between a legendary song that marks a milestone in music history and just another flash in the pan top ten hit? It’s almost always the vocal performance. Sometime a guitar piece will change the way we think about music, or a pianist will break new ground, but almost always its a vocal that delivers the message we’ve been waiting to hear.

If youre like most of us who are into home recording and or studio recording, youve learned the hard way that you cannot compromise on quality when youre capturing a performance. That being said, not everyone can afford a $10,000 vintage Neumann tube condenser microphone, and your choice of microphone also has to do with your budget and what kind of goals you have.

Adding a good vocal microphone to your setup is one area where you should probably spend a little more than you want to. Regardless of your end goals, you need to start with the best vocal setup you can afford. The truth is, most early home recordings aren’t worth a listen simply because the vocal track ends up requiring so many boosts, cuts and effects to cut through the mix, that it actually ends up sounding horrible when it finally does cut through.

This is exactly why in this case, conventional wisdom prevails – start with the best vocal microphone that your budget will allow for. While you’re in the early stages of setting up your home studio, set a budget, and then double what you wanted to spend on a vocal microphone… you won’t regret it – I promise. There’s just no sense in spending a whole bunch of money on Logic or Pro Tools, a nice tube preamp and some Tannoy monitors if all you’ve got is a Shure SM57 to record the vocals with. Believe, you won’t want top hear those recording in six months and you will end up having to do it all over again.

Start with the right equipment ” get yourself a quality vocal microphone, you will be glad you did. These days, there are tons of manufacturers like AKG, Audio Technica, Shure, Sennheiser, and others who make decent microphones in the $200-$400 range. A large diaphragm cardiod condenser microphone will give your vocals shape and clarity, allowing your vocal tracks to cut through the rest of the mix.

Let’s say it again together – “start with a good quality vocal microphone…” save yourself the heartache and hours trying to do a fix-up on someones vocal performance. It’s pretty simple, bad vocals will sound a little better, and great vocals will sound amazing. If you or the person you are recording has a message, don’t point a crappy mic at them and hit record. Spend a few hundred bucks, get a good one, and thanks me later.

Signed Guitar / Memorabilia / Autographed Guitar

May 26th, 2009
by Mark Turgeon

Obtaining a signed guitar is a big deal for those dedicated fans. What can be a better piece of memorabilia than having your own signed guitar from your favorite band or artist? The only problem is finding or getting an authentic signed guitar are hard to come by.

Autographed memorabilia such as albums, photos, and other collectibles are much easier to obtain than a signed guitar from your favorite band or artist.

Signed guitars are worth far more than any other music memorabilia item because they are hard to obtain and get a hold of.

All you have to do is search for a memorabilia collectibles dealer, and look at their prices for an autographed guitar. Most of the guitars sell less than $5,000 dollars, but there are those one of a kind signed guitars like Jimmy Hendrix, that can easily fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars. It all depends who signed the guitar and the quality of the signature and guitar itself and of course the authenticity.

While most collectors look for a autographed guitar that is in mint condition, you might be surprised to learn that they’re not worth the most in this state. Guitars are instruments, and ones that have actually been used by the artist(s) who signed them are worth way more than brand new guitars that were just signed by someone famous. Ultimately, it’s because of the wow factor.

Sure, an autographed guitar is cool to have, but one that was actually played, sweat on, and worn in by the artist is way cooler. Would you rather have a mint condition Fender acoustic signed by all the Beatles, or one that was played by John Lennon in their last tour, and then signed by everyone?

Having your signed guitar authenticated by a professional will increase the value of the piece and will be more marketable to the industry if you decide to sell your item. There are so many forgeries and fakes in this world. So having it authenticated may help the value and separate your signed guitar from the fakes.

If you didn’t get a picture of the signed guitar by the artist(s), then you need to consult a memorabilia expert or dealer for a way to prove the legitimacy of your item. Also, before you buy a guitar that is autographed, you need to make sure it’s real, too. Many people make a living off of crafting fakes and forgeries that look more authentic than the originals, so you need to prevent yourself from getting ripped off.

Check out this Great New CD

May 23rd, 2009
by Patrick Daniels

You never really know what to expect with the Super Furry Animals. With nine previous full length albums, Welsh band the Super Furry Animals have quite the reputation behind them. With a kinky sense of humor, constant experiments with extra instrumentation, and unswerving funkadelic pop sound, whatever the SFA churns out is usually sure to at least keep your attention! The SFA’s last two albums they have released have had a much slower feel to them, but Dark Days Light Years goes back to their more playful roots.

Dark Days Light Years is amazing and definitely one that you can get up and dance to. It is relaxed and has a silly feel to it. The SFA has a broad range of instruments and styles and over the years have experimented with different dance themes, pop anthems and even slower ballads. This album isn’t as uniform, but more a great collection of singles. The never limit themselves are are always up for a good time.

The first song on the CD is Crazy Naked Girls, a psychedelic acid trip that uses the whammy bar as well as it could. The whole album has an interesting mix match of folk and glam songs that don’t exactly seem uniform but definitely work for the band. They even use the erhu, which is a two stringed Chinese instrument that is played with a bow and is really cool.

SFA is always surprising their fans in a great way. They have tracks that are purely pop and even ones that convey the feeling of skiing in neon ski bibs in the late eighties in Switzerland. It is crazy and wonderful how well rounded and exciting this band is.

Dark Days Light Years is the most dance worthy that SFA has had in a long time. They have a great mix of humor and playfulness that would be a great addition to anyone’s collection. Take some time out to experience this band and you won’t be sorry!
