by Davion W

Technology has seen one of its biggest boosts during the 1980s. Since then, electronic gadgets and devices, such as cell phones and laptops, digital cameras and media players, and the like have been coming out, getting a lot of popularity. After Apple launched iPod, now comes the iPod Touch.

Teenagers practically went gaga over Mp3 players because Mp3 players revolutionized the way music is to be listened to. With the iPod Touch, you’ll probably go ballistic because it works a lot better than the Mp3.

The iPod touch has the touch screen with the music capabilities. It’s the iPod with the luxury of the touch screen — classic but totally a beauty. It is in a sleek package, with a square, broad and shiny screen that lets the user do multiple things with a simple touch, usually with a stylus.

One other benefit of the iPod Touch is that it can connect with iTunes so you can make iPod Touch downloads. Making an iPod Touch download is actually one of the greatest things you can do with an iPod, and while you may have to pay in order to avail yourself of this service, downloading for iPod Touch will nonetheless make it all worth it.

iPod Touch memory is available in 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB. You can get the 8GB for $230, the 16GB for $300, and the 32GB for $400. Perhaps, you may think that even just the 8GB is already way too big for your needs, but the moment you see the number of iPod Touch downloads you can make, you will wonder how on earth you will be able to fit them all in your iPod.

These iPod Touch downloads, although price can be a hindrance, they are the life of an iPod Touch. Technically, without them, the iPod Touch is just a beauty with a pattern of high technology and an Mp3 player. Downloading sites can be found when searched in Google or Yahoo and any other browsers.

You can buy your iPod Touch from anywhere in the world. However, if you get it straight from Apple you can have your name or a message engraved on it to personalize your iPod. This is the great thing about Apple — you get luxury, beauty, convenience, and entertainment altogether.

If you want to know where you can get quality iPod Touch downloads, check my website and read what I have written about different download sites.

Downloading Music Online

January 28th, 2009
by Scott McKenzie

Because most high street music retailers charge large fees for music (CDs, tapes and old vinyls), many young fans are now using the internet to satisfy their hunger for music.

With such a plethora of sites available where you can download music for free, the job of locating and downloading your favourite tracks is fast and easy. It is almost impossible to not be able to locate your music as a free download among the multitude of websites available.

Although, the ability to download music is usually only free after a certain amount of time has passed and it is at the discretion of the artist and/or bands. This makes it very challenging to find newly released songs from artists you like in a format capable for downloading and compliant with copyright regulations. Regardless of this, the free music download sites are very deserving of the recognition and feedback they have been receiving from consumers.

Although some free music download sites are strictly geared towards music fans, there are others which give existing and aspiring bands and artists a chance to put their music online and gain better exposure. For an artist who is not yet signed to a deal, websites such as these are an ideal starting point to achieving a musical career which is successful and lasts a long time.

With the help of the previously mentioned websites, unsigned artists and bands can post demo songs, shows, photos, as well as communicate with fans and meet other artists to collaborate with in the future. Nevertheless, this innovative feature greatly improves the prospects of unsigned artists to get noticed by industry professionals and thus accelerate their way to fame and success.

The web sites that cater to both artists and listeners should really be considered better than sites that only offer free downloads of music.

Flaws in Music and Video Zune Downloads For Zune

January 24th, 2009
by Davion W

Quality Zune music and video downloads for free are hard to find. Many things aren’t for free anymore especially now that many countries have been affected by the financial crisis. These downloads are just luxury compared to other important things.

Spending $0.99 – $60 per download or for a membership to download music and video for Zune seems to be just a luxury that few people can afford. After all, there are lots of free sites that do offer music and videos. But the question lies ahead, is it worth it? Even though these free sites seem to offer such a good deal, there are some factors that a user will be risking:

Infectious viruses and worms can be written into the software of music and videos. Through downloading music and video for Zune, one could risk his computer’s vulnerability by exposing it to a fatal software. Once a user has accepted to download these kinds of files, the virus or worm will now be free to roam his computer.

When a virus enters the computer, it will rewrite the computer’s software, hackers will be able to open accounts, programs won’t start and the speed of the computer will lag. This attack can take long to operate but once the virus has spread throughout the computer, even the hardware can be damaged.

Music and video downloads for Zune have sizes on which their download speed depends on. Free sites don’t have unlimited speed so sometimes, downloading from them can take a long time. Downloading big files will slow down the computer and will take a long time. To know the speed of a website, one can visit bandwidth checkers online.

The other frustrating risk a user will be taking is getting downloads that are incomplete or cankered. There is nothing more irritating than taking hours to download only to find that the file downloaded cannot work or is not complete.

Once choosing to download from a free site, the user will be decreasing the safety of his or her computer. Risking the hardware of a computer can cause permanent damage to the PC. Are the free downloads worth the possible breakage of a computer? Certainly not.

To know more about how you can safely get music and video downloads for Zune, click on this link to my blog.

More Information on Eleanor Rigby

January 23rd, 2009
by John Charles

Eleanor Rigby – continuing the story.

Some of you will already know this, but for those who don’t let me just explain that some months ago I was playing a number of gigs in Liverpool, and a local person there invited me to view a tombstone, in a churchyard, which had the inscription to Eleanor Rigby.

My interest was aroused, and so I spent a little time, I didn,t have much spare time available, trying to find out more about the people whose names were on this headstone.

I did indeed find out some information and I wrote an article about my findings. If you would like to read a copy of this article then please go to my website mentioned at the bottom of this article, and there you will find my email address and you can simply email me and request a copy.

If you remember, in that first article which I wrote I said that as and when I came across new information I would write again, and that is the reason for this article today.

Now in case you cannot remember who Eleanor Rigby was, let me give you a few verses of the song, by The Beatles, which made her famous.

Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been Lives in a dream Waits at the window wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door Who is it for

All the lonely people, where do they all come from? All the lonely people, where do they all belong

Eleanor Rigby died in the church and was buried along with her name Nobody came Father McKenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave No one was saved

Do you remember that, a great song with a haunting melody.

Well now, soon after I had written my first article on what I had found out about Eleanor, I received an email telling me about a fascinating auction that was shortly about to happen in the UK.

What led up to the auction was this. A charity in the UK had written to Paul McCartney asking for a donation, nothing surprising in that you might think.

They had to wait 9 months until they heard back from Paul, and even then he did not send a cheque, but he sent them a document.

Not very exciting you might think until you discover that the document was the salary register from Liverpool City Hospital showing the signature of E. Rigby.

It seems that Eleanor worked there as a humble scullery maid, and when you were paid each month you had to sign a document for it.

It was not a very well paid job, she just received 14 pounds per month which even in 1911 was quite low.

The value of this document is that it clearly identifies Eleanor Rigby, the woman of the song written by the Beatles.

I think this is fascinating, but more needs to be discovered and I intend to do so. If you would like to be kept updated on future findings then go to my website where you will find my email address. Send me a message asking to be kept updated.

How to Get Free Music?

January 21st, 2009
by Scott McKenzie

Need access to free music? Is that possible? Yes, it is. All you need is a computer, the ability to access the Internet and knowledge of using search engines. Simple, isn’t it?

Social networks, performer’s websites, and more sources can be a great spot for finding free unpublicized music and popular music on the internet.

Popular social networking sites were set up with musicians in mind. Amateur performers share their music with members of the community in hopes of becoming the next Elvis. This process allows you as a member of the social networking community to download and listen to their music.

Professional performers also share their music, perhaps not as much of it or as often, but they do tend to allow for some downloads. Go to your favorites performers website and look around. They do this in order to entice you to purchase their CD and to get your feedback on new music. You might be asked to register at the site, but this is only to allow them to track downloads.

When you go and look for the newest music that is currently out, sometimes you must look around a bit, but you will eventually get to what you are looking for. A good place to start is with sites that contain chart toppers. These music charts most of the time contain links to download the music. They contain these links so that they can remain competitive with other sites in the market.

Radio stations have long been a source of some good music. Visit your local stations website and browse around for their playlist. Sometimes you can find links to some free downloads. Additionally, they should also have links to some local musicians downloads.

Don’t stick only with familiar radio stations. Try the websites of other stations, even those of different music genres. You may be surprised at the good music you will find outside of your normal choice.

MP3 sales have skyrocketed over the last few years. Turning music into an almost instantly obtainable product turned MP3’s into an instant hit. Now that more and more retail sites are becoming available, the online market for MP3’s has become much more competitive. You can take advantage of this by keeping up to date information on which sites are offering the best deals.

The music industry has been relentless in prosecuting people for sharing music over the Internet. Just because its free doesnt mean its legal.A word about peer-to-peer sharing. Yes, this is free music; however, you should be cautious until the courts settle the debate on sharing music files.

Now you know, it is possible to get free music. You just have to make sure you know where you are getting it and do a little searching to find it on the Internet. So put those keyboards to work and fire up those search engines, theres tunes to be found.

Following the Best Music Charts

January 20th, 2009
by Scott McKenzie

American Top 40, Billboard, MTV, Rick Dees Weekly Top 40there is no shortage of charts that rank music. But which one should you follow? The choice is really up to you.

The American standard by which a song is judged is Billboard, although there is no one true method. Billboard ranks songs based on album sales and the amount of airtime it receives on the radio. They also feature a Hot 100 chart which combines both the sames and airtime. Billboard also places music into categories and has charts such as Billboard Pop, Billboard Country and others, with some crossing over from one chart to another. The Hot 100 premiered the first number one in 1957 and has been active since.

American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest is another immensely popular music chart. Originally hosted by Casey Kasem and counting down the top Billboard hits, American Top 40 now counts down songs with the most airplay and based on Mediabase. While American Top 40 is entertaining, it is not as definitive as Billboard in how it arrives at its ratings.

Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 is another chart countdown that has been around for a long time. Rick Dees originally hosted the American Top 40 before being replaced with Ryan Seacrest. This is another good chart, but still not as authoritative as Billboard.

There is no shortage of music charts around the world that you can follow. MTV, for example, has charts for best music videos. There are charts for almost every genre. The sheer number of charts to follow can become overwhelming.

As mention on the past, the advertisements that is given are raised to the top of the charts. Performers are good to be ranked on, specially in terms of musics.

If you are looking for music from all over the world, then there are music charts which list out this music; they also have charts which are listed based on voting; there are also charts which are based in sales and airplay.

The chart to be used by you for studying a specific trend depends upon the phenomenon you want to watch. To check the popularity trend of a song one should see a chart which displays sales figures of that song while if someone want to see performance of a song then he should follow chart based on airplay.

Regardless of what chart you choose to follow, music and its ranking is all a matter of opinion. A song can be number one or number 100 and if you like it that is all that matters. Unless you have a monetary stake in the songs performance, choosing which chart to follow is much like choosing your music, its all a matter of personal taste.
